My Headcanon Future: Luna and Sombra

Now Celestia hadn't been the only princess with buried feelings for a former villain. Many years ago, when the two royal sisters had first discovered the Crystal Empire, Luna had befriended the gentlemanly King Sombra. Although a king, the empire was very peaceful and had little contact with outside countries and so Sombra had a lot of spare time. To fill this time he took on the study of crystalized magic and astronomy, and because of this he was one of the few who preferred the night and appreciated Luna's role. Luna had been going through some tough times full of jealousy for her sister, and only confided in Sombra with her problems. His charm and love of the night won the young princess over in her heart, but she had yet to make these feelings into something real. Unfortunately, with Sombra's study of crystalized magic he had come across a new specimen of magic crystal. Eager to experiment with it and identify its purpose, he made the horrible mistake of reading its magic with his horn. For you see, the crystal was actually one of dark magic, which would feed off one's magic and corrupt their soul. The crystal fused with his horn and Sombra became a new stallion- a cruel, cold-hearted shadow of his formerself, who enslaved his subjects to farm for more of the dark crystals. Luna was heartbroken, but knew she couldn't let this new Sombra oppress ponies. She reluctantly agreed with her sister to use the Elements of Harmony against him, as they had before against Discord. With his new shadow-esque powers, Sombra learned of their intentions and put a curse on the Empire before they could destroy him. With Luna's jealousy of Celestia the Elements barely worked, but they did. Sombra was turned into shadow and banished into the ice of the Frozen North. 2 days later Celestia held her newfound anual Summer Sun Celebration to celebrate herself as if nothing had happened. Seeing this, Luna cracked and became evil herself. You know the rest of that story.
Thousands of years later and Luna had been freed from her bitterness through the Elements of Harmony. Times had changed since she was banished; ponies enjoyed the night, her sister loved and appreciated her more than ever, and Luna was happy again. Yet, there was still that hole in her heart that couldn't be filled by anything else, no matter how happy her life was now.

Now, a small town and a guard post were stationed in the Frozen North to keep an eye on Sombra's spirit and watch for any signs of the Crystal Empire's return. Their jobs were fruitless and boring until about a year after Luna had come back. With Luna and Celestia's connection to the Elements permanently severed, the spell on Sombra and the crystal Empire wore off. The newly crowned Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor were sent to protect the Empire from Sombra, but the evil king was persistant. Twilight Sparkle and her friends were sent to help, and succesfully managed to find the Crystal Heart. The burst of love and light from the magical artifact seemingly destroyed Sombra, but a small fragment of his soul was still intertwined with the dark crystal that was flung into the Bad Lands. When Luna heard of this, she secretly arranged for herself and a handful of her most trusted guards to search the Bad Lands for her lost love's remains. After many long weeks they were successful in their search. Luna took the horn to Celestia and confessed how she felt for him, and begged her to help restore him to his former self. Sombra was released, but not in his original glory. Still being the Evil King, Luna dared him to hurt her. ...But he couldn't. His love for her pushed the dark magic from his heart, and he transformed back into his original self. The crystal was brutally destroyed and they got married half a year later.

A few years after they were married and Celestia had her first son, Luna and Sombra had a foal. He was a dark blue unicorn with light blue messy hair, green eyes, and a dark colored blotch on his hoof as Luna had on her flank. They named their bundle of joy Nocturne Eclipse. Nocturne was a charmer, and had an air of mystery about him. He tends to speak in charming hushed tones, and tends to be a rebel/bad boy. Although a prince, he doesn't know his place as a royal, like Unity and Midnight. He prefers to just do what he wants and ignores his parents' advice and royal etiquette lessons. He loves to creep up on others and scare them, and hates it when his mother calls him Moony. He loves all things space and thus earned his cutie mark in astrology. He gets a bit embarrassed though by his secret passion and prefers to keep his talent a secret.

Nowadays Luna couldn't be happier with her love and her son, and recently a Luna fanclub was started and more ponies have been showing appreciation of her glorious night. Sombra and Discord have become pretty close brother-in-law's as they're both reformed villains and Discord doesn't really know what to do now that he's reformed and royal so Sombra helps him out trying to help him find a hobby. They like to have dude time and talk about how hot their wives are xD Prince Nocturne likes to stalk his friends and keep them guessing who he is beneath the mysterious charmer.
